Tonight Condesa was a ghost town. Literally. All restaurants had closed by 6 p.m. and only couples walking dogs or those grocery shopping were out on the deserted streets.
It was depressing. Global health worries aside, I can’t help but wonder if it’s the virus that’s multiplying, or if it’s just mainly fear. What’s that slogan from our Bush days, don’t let the terrorists win? Wash your hands, wear your mask, seek medical attention if you have trouble breathing, but just don’t go overboard.
We can’t let the swine flu win, after all.
Stay tuned for reports from other parts of Mexico City this week.
