Drug Addiction on the Rise in Mexico

Late last year, I interviewed the two Mexican residents above: both drug addicts, but entirely different stories. They’re just a few of the country’s addicted, a group that has nearly doubled from 158,000 to 307,000 over the past six years — and that’s a conservative estimate. While the Mexican military battles the nation’s powerful drug cartels, drug addiction is increasing at an alarming rate in the country and being relatively ignored.

See here to read more about their stories and the drug addiction epidemic that is slowly taking hold of Mexico.

I want to thank you for writing about this subject on this blog! I am an alcoholic whom has been through rehab twice and am discovering the beauty of sobriety.

I have become a contributor to a great website called sobriety.org

It is my hope that sobriety.org will become a focal point run by the sober community for the sober community. I look forward to hearing from many of you and developing this website into a powerful life saving tool, even if only for one or two people. Consider this site your community for a happy and sober life!
