Funny or Offensive?
Heads up to Mexico Reporter for pointing out this ad. The text reads, “How to get a seat on the tube.”
The drink company Schweppes ran this ad in a UK newspaper for one day until the Mexican embassy in London complained. Schweppes called the image the latest in their long tradition of satirical advertisements, but apparently everyone doesn’t see the humor in the flu the same way . . .
I don’t see this as particularly offensive, although I imagine the picture’s a bit different in Mexico City. And also if know someone who was taken ill. I guess it’s borderline, but the concept’s pretty clever. What do you think?

I think it’s really funny and that the embassy is overreacting. The flu is the flu . . .
